Carole & Jack Hamik

Carole and Jack came up the Alcan Highway 41 years ago. they heard that Homer was the Shangri-la of Alaska and it sure did turn out to be even more beautiful than they expected. they first moved to sand point, AK where Jack taught high school math. shortly thereafter, the hamik's relocated to Homer to raise their 2 daughters. during the summers jack would commercially fish for halibut in Kachemak Bay, around the Barren Islands and near Kodiak Island.

while jack was out fishing, carole would host guests from all over the world and thus in 1994 whalesong vacation suite was established. the suite is named after the hamik's fishing vessel- the whalesong.

Homer has been the hamik's happy little home all this time and they enjoy sharing it with their delighted guests.
